听起来你已经执行了迁移升级，但选择保持旧的TFS 2008服务器运行，就是你有sense执行了试验升级（按照建议）。

I am preparing to transition our TFS2008 installation to TFS2010.

I had installed TFS2010 on a different server in the same domain as our TFS2008. As soon as the TFS2010 installation and configuration completed I got a flurry of emails and IMs from the TFS2008 users saying that they couldn't get to the TFS2008 server.

I shut down the TFS2010 server and restarted the TFS2008 server and all users were able to reconnect.

Now I'm afraid to restart the TFS2010 server so that I can complete the work I started.

What gives?  I had installed the TFS2010Beta without any problem with this type of interference. I don't recall seeing anything in the Installation Guide that indicated that there would be a problem with two TFS servers.

Hi Richard,

It sounds like you have performed a migration upgrade but have opted to keep the old TFS 2008 server running, that is you have in sense performed a trial upgrade (as is recommended).

To keep both servers running you need to restamp the TFS 2010 database GUID (the clients are confused when there are 2 TFS servers running using the same GUID), for the required steps to perform the restamp see this post:
