Windows XP isn''t supported for WP7 development. For starters it doesn''t support the required DirectX functionality that is needed for the emulator. You can develop on XP and deploy to a real phone, but you will never be able to deploy to the emulator. Nor is there any way for you to debug your program on XP. You need to have at least Vista with a video card that supports the required DirectX features.
