Hi,

We just recently started using workflows, and emails are not being sent for one user who shows up twice in the "hidden" User information list (log files indicate SP is confused about which user to send to/from so the workflow cancels.). 

In Central Admin, there is only one profile for this user.

Is it OK to delete one of the duplicates in this list?  Is there an alternate action to remedy this issue?

Hi,

When the user first access to the site or be assigned the permission for the first time, the user will be automatically added to the User Information list of site collection.

You can remove the user from the User Information list. Grant permission to the user, the user will be added back to the User Information list.

Steps to remove users from User Information list:

1. Login in as an administrator and got to the top of site collection, then append the URL: /_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0;

2. Select the user from the list, and then click Delete the User from Site Collection under Action tab.
