Actually I'm not surprised that the audio and video are out of sync if you're usingn separate devices to capture your audio and video tracks. 2 separate hardware devices, generally, cannot access one anothers clocks. This A/V sync failure scenario is readily reproduced here in the lab e.g. when I use a VCR's composite input and capture it using a video capture card but run the audio through my motherboard's audio input line.
